  1. Reply to all comments

Let's say you're on your social media platform, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram and you get comments on your post. What do you do at that moment when you see those comments and you're checking social media? I implore you to check your social media when you have the time to sit down and reply.

I advise you to reply with thoughts and intentions. Like the comment and give your feedback, thank the individual for the comment and continue the conversation. It's as simple as that. Recognize the comment, reply and the post shall continue to go out into the ethos of social media and provide you new business opportunities.

2. Greet new contacts

Say hello to new followers. You go out there as a business and you represent yourself with integrity and courage and your reputation is put out there. Your reputation and integrity and some courage involve greeting. It involves saying, "Hello, welcome to my social media account. Thank you for your attention here. I welcome you to explore the content and continue to stay of interest in the account and the business." It's that simple, really, one sentence. "Hello, thank you for following me or us depending on your business. Welcome to our social media. Welcome to our LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. I am so glad to have you here. When you have a question, let me know." Open dialogue.

It's that easy, it's that simple and leave it at that and let the conversation continue. Because social media is about being social first, the media aspect involves posting your content. What I mean by content is any type of information that you have to share about your reputation, business, credibility, business opportunities, engagements, charities, whatever you have involvement within your business.

3. Be consistent

How many times are you posting on social media?

How many times are you sharing a YouTube video?

How many times are you publishing a podcast in one week?

Make sure you know the number of posts per week, per month, per day. You are going to post three times per day. You're going to post once at 8:00 AM, once at 12:00 PM and once at 4:00 PM. Great. Now make sure to be consistent with a post at those times every single day, seven days a week, all the time, including holidays. Consistency involves a little bit of a plan.

4. Evolve strategy

By strategy, I mean creative and strategy. Creative pictures, images, involve your brand, involve the message, the ethos of your business, your why. Reputation equals brand, reputation equals credibility, expertise, experience, all these other words that we use is what grows your reputation. It's what evolves your strategy. It's that simple.

5. Hashtags

Use the live, work, play methodology to the breakdown of the behavior and psychographics of your prospective client. Where they live, where they work, where they play, entertain, dine, relax, travel. Find those locations in your primary and secondary market that foster your prospective client. That's where your clients hang out. So that's where you are to market using a hashtag. Categorize your hashtags for ease of usage. When you apply hashtags to your post, you automatically attract others actively engaging in them.
