Today's discussion is focused on Alexa. Yes, Amazon Alexa, the one that we all have in our homes, the one that continues to innovate year after year. Alexa is changing the way we communicate with our home as well as our activities. Alexa also has the power to impact our businesses. Alexa is a tool for us to have as an assistant. It's an easy way to make calls, schedule meetings, check your calendar, and monitor your social media updates. I implore you to get an Alexa for yourself. Learn about her ways; learn how to communicate with her.
Alexa is her, as opposed to an it. The psychology of Alexa that Amazon emphasizes on is to have Alexa as one of our assistants. Alexa can do monotonous activities and give us the updates of the day within our business. This is the very beginning of Alexa technology and I predict that Alexa will impact our businesses majorly. Make sure you take a look at every home that you walk in. Do you see Alexa present in the house? I know that some markets, especially different cities, second home markets, rural and suburban areas, it is a commonality to walk into a home and see an Alexa. Now, hotels are starting to get the Alexa service. Instead of the novelty telephone, hotels will switch to the Alexa device.
Alexa is making our society easy. Alexa is making it easier for us to navigate our day today. As business owners, hoteliers, entrepreneurs, CEOs, and other senior level executives, we choose our time for priority activities and have a desire to minimize everything else. Imagine being able to stand anywhere within your office or your home and communicate directly, just using your voice without having to touch your phone or Apple Watch. It's also an easy way to free up some of those tedious activities from your executive assistant. Alexa is here to stay. Alexa is only revolutionizing and I'm eager to see where Alexa goes and how she impacts the real estate and hotel industry.
I predict that Alexa will be able to communicate with other real estate brokerages and hotels. A prospective client will be able to say to Alexa, "Alexa, where are there open houses this weekend?" We familiar with seeing this format on a website like OpenTable, a real estate website, or even Yelp. Alexa is going to take over that market in a huge way. As it takes more work to search Yelp reviews and OpenTable, Alexa's much less work for us and our bodies. It is merely us moving our mouse and voicing, "Alexa, what are the new restaurants in town? Alexa, what is the best St Regis to stay at in the US? Alexa, where are the open houses this Saturday?"
Available voice commands are something that Alexa is adapting. The skills are the way you use your Alexa. In a similar way to apps on the iPhone, capabilities allow us to use Instagram, different social media apps, our favorite news platforms and other websites that we appreciate on Alexa. As long as they have a skill, they're usable.
I see the phone with the cord disappearing overall and just having a simple small Alexa, which is very simple in design. It's easy for someone from the penthouse floor to communicate with a concierge on a different level. As long as you speak clearly and affirm the name Alexa, she will answer and respond accordingly.
Now that Alexa is on your mind, I implore you to explore Alexa. I guarantee you the forward thinking brokerages along with hotels that are new and technology driven along with ingenuity in their service, will adopt Alexa. Alexa is slowly but surely growing in our environment.
