I Post So Many Pictures of Myself! (And You Should Too!)

READ TIME: 1 minute 30 seconds

For you who choose to follow me on social media, I am positive you see a variety of pictures. I decide to share numerous photos for a specific reason, authentic storytelling. Social media provides the opportunity to capture your moments and tell us all about you. Use your profile as a blank canvas to fill with stories. Online marketing today demands more versatile ways to show yourself. You appear on social media to be present for your clients and gain advocates. Decide to forge a more authentic direction instead of using your signature headshot numerous times.

When stepping forward to take more pictures of yourself, choose to acquire a tripod for a more professional look. Selfies are ok but predictable. You want to stand out from your competition and position yourself as a business person. Take a lesson from photographers; they access different poses and equipment to convey their clients’ personalities. Look natural on camera by setting the scene of an office or friendly environment. Access brand goods to show viewers your business. Choose to dress like you are going to a client meeting.

Set aside an afternoon on a sunny day to capture bright photos. Real-time images help your clients see what you look like today. Give your audience a different glimpse at yourself. Social media viewers expect to see the day in the life. Access objects that help you grab the attention of potential clients. Show them your day in the office or on the go. Though the annual professional photoshoot is a must, day to day images helps you get out of your comfort zone. We know about social media that we are out of the comfort zone we once knew.

Imagine looking at another person’s social media account; you enjoy the account presentation because you see them each day. Get in the zone by having fun! Put on your favorite music or a podcast while you photograph yourself. Make sure to put your phone camera on self-timer so you are in position. I only give this advice to help you try something new and emerge as an individual. Taking pictures of yourself is one way to stand out on social media. Take this opportunity with integrity to learn, grow and redefine your reputation.
