Work From Home Motivation
Some of you are working from home because your company requires you at this time. Some choose the lifestyle of virtual work to have the luxury of staying home and traveling for business. I embrace the action from the home way of living because this is the exact situation I enjoy each day. Being new to virtual work can be a challenge, especially when you yearn the office banter and the ritualistic commute to work while listening to your favorite tunes. For a temporary situation, we are now waking up in the morning and traveling to our office or kitchen to start work.
Even though those commutes are missed, I know that we will get back to this at some point. The intention of my message here is to motivate you to enjoy working from home even though you may not like it. Yes, it is something to get used to while the sounds of others living with you are around as much of an office vibe that you can invite into your home will serve you well. If you miss the conversations with your colleagues, schedule a daily or weekly zoom call.
Zoom is the popular means of communication, but Facebook Messenger, Google hangouts, or House Party will do just fine. As we see right now, many group messenger apps are exploding because people want connection. Having this time to work from home may also change your viewpoint. You may decide to take some of those optional flexible workday days to enjoy a little cozy home time.
The message here is to motivate you to enjoy it while it lasts instead of feeling sad about what you don’t have. It is easy to be cynical about what you miss. However, being grateful for the little things and the ability to work each day is an admirable endeavor in itself.
